Economics: Tracking global supply chain stresses
Introducing ASR’s global supply chain monitor
As the Russia-Ukraine crisis deepens, question marks remain over the health of the global supply network. We’ve created a monitor to track how these supply chain pressures are developing over time.
Supply chain dynamics were improving
Our monitor was suggesting that supply chains had started to heal. The demand, inventories, prices and time components had all peaked. Labour markets were adding the most persistent pressures on supply chains.
But Russia-Ukraine developments could hinder progress
The exclusion of Russia from the supply network could prove detrimental for the recovery in global value chains. As this crisis develops, our monitor will become increasingly important to watch.
