Anthony Abrahamian joined ASR in February 2020 after a year at a financial technology firm, where he produced sell-side EM research. Anthony holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bristol, during which he spent a year studying abroad in Madrid.
Ben Blanchard joined ASR as an economist in September 2016, most recently focusing on European economics. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bath.
Misha Boskovic works with David McBain on gathering and processing sentiment, positioning and momentum data across global asset classes. Previously he worked for 14 years at Merrill Lynch/BofAML as a data analyst in their European Equity and Quantitative Strategy teams and ran the data behind the ML Fund Manager Survey.
Head of Research
David Bowers is ASR's Head of Research. Previously, he was chief global investment strategist for Merrill Lynch, where he worked for eleven years -including three years in New York. He ran the Global Fund Managers' Survey - a powerful tool for understanding how investors view the world.
Head of Quant Strategy
Charles Cara has been a European Strategist at Merrill Lynch and has worked in the research departments at Dresdner Kleinwort and Morgan Stanley.
Macro ESG Analyst
Matt Cocker joined ASR in July 2021 on a year-long industrial placement, supporting the Sales and Research teams. Matt is studying for a degree in Economics from the University of Bath.
Head of Fixed Income Strategy
Stefano Di Domizio leads for ASR on Fixed Income Strategy. He has over 15 years’ experience as an economist and strategist, having worked at JPMorgan, Intesa-SanPaolo Bank and Lombard Street Research.
Chief Investment Strategist
Ian Harnett is ASR's Chief Investment Strategist and focuses on Global Economics and Strategy. Ian has over 25 years of experience in economics and equity strategy, previously as Chief European Investment Strategist at UBS (where he was #1 Extel ranked for European Strategy).
Head of Thematics
Michael Hessel has been with ASR since September 2011, focusing on political economy and political risk in Europe, as well as thematic research. Prior to joining, Michael read Politics & Philosophy at Edinburgh University.
Head of Technical Strategy
David McBain is a technical strategist, with a focus on sentiment, positioning and momentum analysis across global asset classes. David was ranked among the Top 10 for Technical Analysis in the 2011 and 2013 Reuters Extel surveys.
Macro ESG Strategist
Richard Mylles joined ASR from the BBC’s Political Research Unit, working on Hardtalk, The Andrew Marr Show and also Sky Sunrise. Richard holds a degree in PPE from Warwick and an MA from City University, London.
Head of Macro ESG
Michael Penn is Head of Macro ESG, advising investors on how to integrate ESG factors into the drivers of views on macroeconomics, strategy and asset allocation.
Prior to joining ASR he was Chief Economist and Strategist at Cohen & Steers in New York, and previously spent eight years as an economist and strategist at Merrill Lynch in New York and London.
Head of Multi Asset Strategy
Chris Turner heads up Multi Asset Strategy at ASR. He was Head of Strategy at Lombard Street Research, and previously managed global equity and tactical asset allocation portfolios at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
Asset Allocation Strategist
Zahra covers alternative and real assets. Before joining ASR, Zahra worked as a global economist at Dresdner Kleinwort, and as an FX analyst at both Dresdner Kleinwort and BNP Paribas. She is a CFA charterholder.
Dominic White has 15 years’ experience, working first at the UK Treasury and latterly on the number-one ranked European economics team at ABN Amro covering the UK and eurozone economies.
Emerging Market Economist
Adam Wolfe joined ASR from MRB where he was drove the firm’s view on the Chinese economy and policy, and was responsible for helping determine MRB’s Asia Ex-Japan view. Prior to this, he was Director of Emerging Asia for Roubini Global Economics.
Carly Beattie started her career at Dresdner Kleinwort, spending 6 years on the highly ranked European Equity Sales desk, before moving to Evolution Securities as a Director in Equity Sales.
Macro Specialist Sales
Peter Bradshaw is a Macro Specialist Salesperson with a comprehensive knowledge of cross asset global markets and key relationships to senior clients. Prior to joining ASR he was top ranked as Head of Multi-Asset Sales at UBS, and top-three ranked for Equity Research across multiple sectors/countries at BAML before helping found their Global Equity Sales team.
Global Head of Sales
Verity Hunt is the Head of Sales for ASR and has been rated in the top 3 of the Macro Specialist Sales category (often in the #1 position) by Extel in the Global and European Economic and Strategy categories every year since 2003.
Beth McCann joined ASR in February 2010 and was previously a member of the European equities sales team at Nat West Markets.
Demetri joined ASR from Ausbil Investment Management in Sydney, where he was a Business Development Manager. Previously, he was a member of the Nordics macro sales team at BCA Research, and before that he worked in trading and client facing roles at JP Morgan, Macquarie Bank and Commonwealth Securities, across London and Sydney.
James Warden joined ASR from CFRA, where he spent over 3.5 years on the Institutional Sales Team across EMEA. James has nine years of experience in the independent research space, primarily across equities and macro strategy in both Hong Kong and London.
Rob DeLuca joined ASR after 5 1/2 years at Eurasia Group. He has over 20 years of experience Trading FX, Fixed income, and Macro at several Banks and Hedge Funds. Rob also spent six years as a Managing Director at Medley Global Advisors, where he was a macro strategist responsible for providing monetary, political, and strategic insights to hedge funds and institutional investment clients.
Managing Director, ASRS
Jeff Marine is responsible for developing and managing ASR’s institutional investor client business in North America. He previously worked for Merrill Lynch, Nomura and HSBC in Multi-Asset/Equity Sales and Corporate Finance in New York and London.
Milestream Consulting (Australia Sales)
Simon Calder has extensive experience in economic forecasting and research, investment strategy, and public policy analysis. Prior to joining ASR, Simon held roles with major global asset consultant Mercer, National Australia Bank, Australian stockbroker JB Were & Son and the Australian Treasury. Simon has qualifications in economics from Monash University and the University of New England.
Head of AU Sales
Luke MacRedmond is head of ASR’s Australasian business. His prior experience includes portfolio management roles in London and Dublin and senior executive positions for HSBC Asset Management and Challenger Financial Services in Australia.
Chief Operating Officer
Peter has over 30 years’ experience working in financial services in senior operational and technical roles. Most recently he was COO of HSBC’s Global Research division. Prior to that, he was CTO for Global Equity Advisory at UBS.
Amy specialises in office and financial administration and has previously worked in a variety of industries in both Glasgow and London. Amy graduated with an MA in Literary Studies from the University of Glasgow.
Head of IT & Infrastructure
Tom joined ASR after five years at Merrill Lynch working in both Equity and Fixed Income research, and latterly, on ML's proprietary equity analytics database. He now manages ASR's technical, infrastructure and business operations.
EA & Office Manager
Kate is Executive Assistant to David Bowers, Ian Harnett & Verity Hunt. Kate has extensive Executive PA experience, working in a variety of industries - most recently for Ogilvy and Mather in both London and Paris.
