David Bowers is ASR's Co-Founder and Chairman. Previously, he was chief global investment strategist for Merrill Lynch, where he worked for eleven years -including three years in New York. He ran the Global Fund Managers' Survey - a powerful tool for understanding how investors view the world.

Ian Harnett
Ian Harnett is ASR's Co-Founder and Chief Investment Advisor, he focuses on Global Economics and Strategy. Ian has over 35 years of experience in economics and equity strategy, previously as Chief European Investment Strategist at UBS (where he was #1 Extel ranked for European Strategy).

Chief Executive Officer
Peter McGahan
Peter joined ASR as CEO in May 2024 and brings a wealth of experience, most recently as UK Head of Commercial and Transaction Banking at Société Générale. Prior to this Peter was Head of UK Equities and Derivative Sales at SG London after being Deputy Head of the SG New York Markets business. In NYC, he has led its markets sales activities, a role he had also played in both SG Paris and London. Peter’s 30+ year career has also seen him in senior roles at both Citigroup and Schroders Securities.

Peter Holmes
Peter is the Chief Operating Officer and has over 30 years’ experience working in financial services in senior operational and technical roles. Most recently he was COO of HSBC’s Global Research division. He was also CTO for Global Equity Advisory at UBS. Peter is now on the Executive Board of Euro IRP.

Head of Research
Nick heads up ASR's Research team, he joined ASR after 17 years at UBS Investment Bank, most recently as Managing Director, Head of European Equity Strategy. He regularly contributes to media, such as Financial Times , CNBC, Bloomberg TV, WSJ, and cross-asset media roundtables.

Charles Cara
Charles Cara has been a European Strategist at Merrill Lynch and has worked in the research departments at Dresdner Kleinwort and Morgan Stanley.

Dominic White
Dominic White has 15 years’ experience, working first at the UK Treasury and latterly on the number-one ranked European economics team at ABN Amro covering the UK and eurozone economies.
Asset Allocation Strategist
Zahra Ward-Murphy
Zahra covers alternative and real assets. Before joining ASR, Zahra worked as a global economist at Dresdner Kleinwort, and as an FX analyst at both Dresdner Kleinwort and BNP Paribas. She is a CFA charterholder.
Emerging Market Economist
Adam Wolfe
Covering China and emerging markets for over 15 years, Adam has contributed to the FT, WSJ, Bloomberg and The Economist, and recently to The US-China Economic & Security Review Congressional Commission. He was previously a Strategist at MRB and the Director of Asia Ex-Japan at Roubini Global Economics.

Ben Blanchard
Ben Blanchard joined ASR as an economist in September 2016, most recently focusing on European economics. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bath.

Chris Turner
Chris Turner heads up Multi Asset Strategy at ASR. He was Head of Strategy at Lombard Street Research, and previously managed global equity and tactical asset allocation portfolios at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
Head of Climate Macro Strategy
Michael Penn
Michael is Head of Climate Macro Strategy, advising investors on how to integrate climate change factors into the drivers of views on macroeconomics, strategy and asset allocation. Prior to ASR he was Chief Economist and Strategist at Cohen & Steers in New York, and spent eight years at Merrill Lynch in New York and London.

Michael Hessel
Michael Hessel has been with ASR since September 2011, focusing on political economy and political risk in Europe, as well as thematic research. Prior to joining, Michael read Politics & Philosophy at Edinburgh University.

Stefano Di Domizio
Stefano Di Domizio leads for ASR on Fixed Income Strategy. He has over 15 years’ experience as an economist and strategist, having worked at JPMorgan, Intesa-SanPaolo Bank and Lombard Street Research.

Misha Boskovic
Misha manages sentiment, positioning and momentum data across global asset classes. Previously he worked for 14 years at Merrill Lynch / BofAML as a data analyst in their European Equity and Quant Strategy teams, and ran the data behind the ML Fund Manager Survey.

Jeffrey Marine
Jeff has been Head of Absolute Strategy Research Services, the firm’s institutional investor client business in North America, since 2020. He previously spent nearly 30 years with Merrill Lynch, Nomura, and HSBC in various roles, including Head of Equity Sales teams in New York and London. Jeff earned an MBA in Finance at the Wharton School and a BA in Economics at the University of Virginia.

James joined ASR from CFRA, where he spent over 3.5 years on the Institutional Sales Team across EMEA. James has over 10 years experience in institutional research sales, primarily across equities and macro strategy in both Hong Kong and London.
